Lion King

Simba: Stop following me. Who are you?

Rafiki: The question is, Who are you?

Simba: I thought I knew, but now I am not so sure.

Rafiki: Well, I know who you are.

Simba: I think you’re a little confused.

Rafiki: Wrong! I am not the one who is confused. You don’t even know who you are.

Simba (walking away): Oh, and I suppose you do?

Rafiki: You’re mufasa’s boy!

I am so blessed by this little dialog from lion king. I am sure u all have watched this movie, if not then this is a must seen! started from when Simba is just a small lion, and his father (the King) walks with Him in the morning, and show him the kingdom (everything the light touches is our kingdom!). Simba is pictured to be very close with his father.

Then comes a scene where simba sings, he is excited on his new found identity.. he can’t wait to be king!
Then some more so called ‘accidents’ cos of some disobedience, but resulted in more experiences of his father’s love and care, that his father will always protect him, ready to taught him, and be there for him, whatever what he did, or did not do.

Then comes a moment when there’s this one accident, one disobedience, that is used by evil voices, to accuse him, and make him feels guilty.. he is afraid, and run away from who he truly is.. in running away, he found a new life. Life where he doesn’t need to care who he really is, Life where he doesn’t need to feel guilty, Life of freedom, doing whatever he likes, Life without responsibility (hakuna matata).

Then comes this time, where he meets the old rafiki, that brings him to remember his past, to remember who he truly is. To remember why he is born, and the Role and Responsibility that He is designed to be. To remember that He and that his identity is the Kings Son!

no matter what I did, where I am today, and what mistakes that I’ve made, I still need to remember my true identity, that He accepts and loves me no matter what. even if I go far from Him and then regrets my decision, there’s no distance in this universe to keep Him from coming and embrace me and hold me back in His loving arm.

I am so glad to have a Father like You! ^^

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

i like this quote from Steve Jobs’ Commencement speech for Stanford University. Go watch the video from youtube here.
Steve said to the graduates to stay hungry, and stay foolish. what i get from this quote is:
- stay hungry: people that is in hunger crave for something, they will try and try to get what they crave for, and not just being idle and stay where they are, they force themselves to be creative to get what they want. i should not stay idle, and stay with my current condition, keep on moving forward, and crave to be better person. Don’t settle with this, keep looking and moving forward. This talks about character, about skills, also about ideas, try to keep on craving forward, be creative to get the ‘food’. innovate new ideas, build a better character, learn new skills, keep moving forward, stay hungry!

- stay foolish: people that feel that they are a fool, realize about their weaknesses, and that keeps them modest and make it easier for them to learn. they thirst to learn something new cos they knew that they need to learn and to tolerate their foolishness. i need to keep on learning, know that there’s always a bigger sky up there, a roof for house, a sky for the world, and a universe to conquer. stay foolish, keep on learning!
