never had much use for people who second guessed my decision
specially if they’ve never held a command, and understand the pressure,
to make a call, that affects the lives of thousands, and you have no one to turn to for backup.

a quote from the film series that I’m currently watching.
The person who said this is a charismatic leader, a commander of a spaceship.
Being a leader of a spaceship, he is required to make a lot of important decision, sometimes a quick one, and most of the time a very hard decision that will affect lives of his crews.
This leader is not perfect, he makes some bad decision that we only found out later.
But I think this is a very gud examples of everyday life, where we can’t 100% always make the right decision, we sometimes make a bad call, how we as a team sometimes question our leader decision, and how we as a leader sometimes being forced to take the responsibility to make a decision.

question to ponder about decision making :
1. as a leader, list down the quality that u expect from ur team when u’re about to make an important decision?
2. as a team, list down the quality that u expect from ur leader when he/she is about to make a decision?
3. as a team, ponder on how u react when ur leader makes a decision that u think was wrong, how about if u’re in ur leader shoes, what would he expect from u as a team?

nb: to all leaders out there, don’t give up and never run from ur responsibilities, keep on calling those decision and remember to learn from it, being a leader is truly a privilege, u can learn things that other may not have a chance to experience. stay.hungry.stay.foolish!

are you His Friend or His Fan??

google definition of fan: A fan, aficionado, or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking and enthusiasm for a sporting club, person (usually a celebrity), group of persons, company, product, activity, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing or person constitute its fanbase or fandom. They often show their enthusiasm by starting a fan club, holding fan conventions, creating fanzines, writing fan mail, or promoting the object of their interest and attention.

it’s interesting how fan can know the object of their liking so well, a fan knows their interests, what they are doing right now, their history, their power and ability and many more.

i like how the book give example about this, a person can be a fan of his president, he knows the president very well. He is protected by the president and being treated well by the president (cause that what the president do, to serve the country). But the very question is still the same, when the two of them meet each other, how will the president react? what does the president consider this fan as? will the president even know this person? will the president consider the person as a friend? will the president shares his deeper feeling, thought/plans with this person? will this person gains the president trusts?

the same question goes to us, are you one of His friend? or just a mere fan?

why does God test us? to find out what is in our hearts? Absolutely not!
He already know what is hidden in our hearts.
He tests us so that we might know what is in our hearts.

I quote the sentence above from the book that I’m reading right now.
It’s a fierce book, it’s talking about what fear of the Lord is about..
I like the above quote, it somehow reminds me to look back inside my heart,
to search the motives, why do i do the things that i do right now.
