yeah!!, haha, I’m currently upgrading my blog, adding new feature into it, look below and behold..
a Web Toolbar!
yeah.. inspired by facebook toolbar and thanks to my friend, karlo, who help creating the css ^^ okay, currently I only have 2 toolbar widget, search and clock, but I’m planning on adding new functions along the way, one that is inside my head right now is “Light” function (turn on/off the light for my blog page), easter egg, or bookmark function? hmm, comment for ideas are most welcomed…
my bigger plan is to create the start menu to create a popup, and there maybe I can list widgets or featured post, or category links, etc.. mm, another feature that would be good is chat (just like facebook), haha, but I think this is way over line for me, I really need to spend more time on that cos I probably need to mess around with php and session in wordpress.. as for now, enjoy the new toolbar, here’s some step on creating a toolbar:
- Create a div near the body end of your blog html layout, in my case I replace my blog footer div, use css and set div position: fixed and bottom: 0. here’s the complete html and css for basic toolbar.
<style type=”text/css”>
#footer {
padding:0;
margin:0;
clear:both;
background:#E8E8E8;
text-align:left;
height:20px;
}
@media screen{
body>div#footer{
position:fixed;
bottom:0;
left:1%;
width:98%;
}
}
</style>
<div id=”footer”>
put your toolbar content here
</div>
- Style your toolbar, in my case, I use border-top: 2px groove and add hover effect to the buttons. I think it creates a nice effect.
- Create your toolbar widgets. You can create a simple toolbar widget from javascript, (my search and clock widget are just a simple form and javascript function) or a more complex widget by using php and wordpress functions.

- to download the complete example for this toolbar, you can download here
- enjoy and good luck on creating your own toolbar

You should watch the video above. It wonderfully explains the source of credit crisis we are in now, well for me at least.
You’ll learn terms about mortgage, sub-prime mortgage, leverage, etc. Good job to Jonathan Jarvis for video well done, a good example of visualized learning and a good time spent to learn about finance.

I just finished reading this book. It’s about a moderate boy who is about to settle with his life, and then being inspired to seeks for his ‘personal legend‘. the story is quite short, it talks about how the boy leave everything that he has and the thought to settle down with life to go to an adventure to seeks his treasure on a journey that so called ‘personal legend‘.
The story continues about when the boy meets a wall, but continue to struggle, and then meet a bigger wall, but he continue to persevere, at some point he persevere until he becomes rich and forget about his ‘personal legend‘. But when he is about to go back home to start over with his new wealth, he remembers his treasure, and decide to continue his ‘personal legend‘.

The book talks about the language of the world, in which all things talks the same language, the language of enthusiasm, high-spirit, language of fear, and courage, and most, language of love.
The book took number of stories from the Bible, and it made easier for me to follow, but despite it took some Bible stories, there’s one point that is being repeated inside this book that i need to be cautious with. It talks about how the whole universe helps those who are in pursuit of their goals, that one’s strong will and strive to achieve a dream will attract the whole universe to help one achieve their dream/goal. It is true that we reap what we sow, and the law of this world is that it rewards those who is diligent, hard working and determined to reach something. But I personally needs to (keep) reminds myself, not to rely on my personal strength/power to achieve my dream. I need God, and He is not the world/universe. World/Universe by itself is His creation, in that, the Creator is far more greater than the creature, that I need to rely and put my trust in Him, to seek Him and try to have a relationship, to ask for His guidance to achieve my dreams and to discern what was my personal ambition and what’s the best plan that He has for me.
Things I learn from this book:
- I need to persevere, even when situation turns bad, and worsen, when it seems that everything has been lost. I need to persevere, like my friend said, Hope is always there, and I can always start over new. Money, treasure, possession lost can be build again, but a hope/spirit lost, is never to come back.
- I need to keep on refine myself, strive to be better and better, as this will affect the environment around me. Enthusiasm is a must, and most of the time, to be wise is better than to be rich.
- … i forget, i’ll get back on this point as soon as i remember :p
