Facebook is now allowing third party advertisers to use your photos without your permission. There is something you can do about it. There are privacy settings set up in Facebook to keep your photos safe from these third party advertisers.

  1. Go to your Facebook.
  2. Go to “Settings” in the upper right corner and click on “Privacy”.
  3. Select “News Feed and Wall”.
  4. At the top of the next page you’ll see two tabs. The tab you’re on reads “Actions within Facebook. Click on the other tab that reads “Facebook Ads”.
  5. This page allows you to “opt out of appearing in your friends’ Facebook Ads below.” You can do so by choosing “No one” from the drop down box. If you choose “Only my friends”, your photos will continue to show on ads on your friends Facebook pages.
  6. Click “Save Changes”.

a nice shot from Jon Rawlinson. This is taken at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium in Japan. So those who plans to travel to Japan, I think this gigantic aquarium is definitely worth a visit.

The main tank called the “Kuroshio Sea” holds 7,500-cubic meters (1,981,290 gallons) of water and features the world’s second largest acrylic glass panel, measuring 8.2 meters by 22.5 meters with a thickness of 60 centimeters. Whale sharks and manta rays are kept amongst many other fish species in the main tank.

the power of purpose

As I re-read this book, (The Power of Purpose, by Richard J. Leiger), I find it very refreshing, and kinda give me a, okay maybe two or more, good slap in the face. I’m still continuing to re-read this book, but meanwhile, here are two good quotes that i took from first few chapters of this book. You can click on the quotes to translate it between English and Bahasa Indonesia. Enjoy!

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one;
the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap;
the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances
complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy
George Bernard Shaw–

It seems to me that in the last analysis there are only two choices: MacBeth’s contention that life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury and signifying nothing, and Pierre Teilhard’s “something is afoot in the universe, something that looks like gestation and birth.” Either there is a plan and purpose — and that plan and purpose can best be expressed by the words “life” and “love” — or we live in a cruel, arbitrary, and deceptive cosmos in which our lives are a bried transition between two ablivions.
–Andrew Greeley
