Charlie Boswell has inspire thousands of man to refuse to give up on their situation, and to get up and give the world the best out of their situation. Charlie became blind on World War II when he tries to save his friend from a burned tank. Charlie was a great athlete before the incident, but after he loses his sight, he decided to try a new kind of sport, a sport that he never plays even when he still has his sight – Golf!
Through his strong will and his love to Golf, he keeps on practicing until he became National Golf Champion for blind people, and He won the awards 13 times!
One of his idols is a well known Golf player, Ben Hogan. So it’s really an honor for Charlie to win Ben Hogan Award in 1958. When he met Ben Hogan, Charlie told him that he is a big fan, and says that one of his wishes is to Golf just 1 round with the spectacular Ben Hogan. Mr Hogan agrees that to play Golf with him will also be an honor, obviously Charlie’s name has grown, and that Mr Hogan has heard about Charlie’s achievement and admire his skills.
“Would you play with some money, Mr Hogan?“, Charlie said.
“I can’t play for money, it’s not fair!“, answers Hogan.
“Oh come on Mr. Hogan – only $1000 per hole.”
“I can’t. What would they say about me later, to have used you and your situation.“, answers Hogan.
“So, you didn’t dare, Mr. Hogan?”
“OK!” says Hogan desperately, “but I definitely will show you my best performance!”
“I wouldn’t expect less.” says Boswell in confidence.
“OK, please, Mr. Boswell. Show me when and where!”
With full confidence, Boswell answers, “10 pm, tonight!”
knows your strength and explore it!

Betty Anderson Stanley (1904), defines Success as:
People who achieves success are people who live a good life, enjoy a good laugh, and loves a lot; People who enjoys trusts from pure woman, honors from smart man, and love from little children; who have fill his place and finish his tasks; who left this world as a better place than when he founds it, either with more flower, good poem, or saved souls; who didn’t lose his appreciation on the beauty of this earth nor fail to express it; who force to look for the best in others and give them the best that he had; whose life is an inspiration; and his memories is a blessing to others.

I met someone today, and have a chat with him, he’s working for Boehringer Ingelheim in Singapore. From the chat, I’ve been reminded about taking more seriously about my own personal growth, I realize that I can be a very laid back person sometimes, and lately I’ve been doing that. I can’t wait for other people to motivates me or to wait for someone to care and feed me, I’m an adult now, and I need to take full responsibility on how I live my life and where will I take it (well it’s not that I forget about God, and do everything by myself, it’s just that I’ll need to take it more seriously, not leave throw everything to Him and expect that things will work out for me). I need to work hard, build network, and plan well! Need to build more self discipline, and to know the things that I wanted. It’s okay for me not to know my future in 5 or 10 years, I’ll just need to grow my character and network, do it right, and surely doors of opportunity will open to take me to some level that I have never even think before.
Another thing about today’s lesson is that He shares about one of the Managing Directors there, He said that one of them was actually working as IT personnel before, and He grows to be a Business Analyst, then Marketing, then eventually reach the current position. This story is good for me, in a way that it gives me hope, that IT people do have a future, to not just be stagnant as technical, but that I can grow *if I’m willing to pay the price* and maximize the potential that God has planted within me.
Hope this simple story can be a slap and a pat in the back for you, and that we can grow and develop what God has trusted within us.
Think right and Think bright!

click here to watch a short movie about my new hair
a post dedicated to my new hair
most of my friends asked the same question:
- WHY???
- Who broke ur heart?
- Are u stressed out?
Haha, to answer all of those question, I did it because I want to :p
I’ve been wanting to cut my hair short from last year, but didn’t find enough courage.
This new year I think my “I don’t care” character has gone up, so I decide to go and just cut short.
I think I still haven’t grasp the idea of having a new hair, I haven’t really felt lost for my old hair, and I still, by reflex, get my comb and look in the mirror after I put my clothes on *what a silly*.
It’s my second time, and I kind of like it. The world seems a bit lighter and cheerful, I like the simplicity. It’s just a bit dizzy when I walk under scorching sunlight. Anyone cared to buy me a new hat?
